The Equality Act 2010 says you must not be discriminated against because of your race.
Race can mean your colour, or your nationality (including your citizenship).
It can also mean your ethnic or national origins, which may not be the same as your current nationality
Only 65% of people aged between 16-64 years old from all other ethnic groups combined were employed compared 77% of white people (Office of National Statistics).
There are only 6 ethnic minority Directors in the FTSE 100 in the postion of CEO or Chair. Over a third of FTSE 100 companies don’t have any BAME board members.
We know that black African, Caribbean or Black British women have an even greater gender pay gap than white women.
The statistics speak for themselves. Businesses need support to change the narrative and have a more diverse and inclusive leadership team and workforce.
