Our Skills Development Day is about increasing your confidence, developing your career skills and supporting you to achieve your goals!
The day is filled with four workshops with relevant topics and led by professional and experience women. We want to give you everything you need to take you to the next level in your career whether that be this year or in the next 10 years!

Influencing Workshop With Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner, founder of #YesSheCan, NLP Coach, and qualified Diversity & Inclusion specialist, welcomed us into the day!
She led our Influencing workshop which was all about utilising the key tool in our career is the ability to influence.
This workshop gave our delegates the skills and confidence to do this within their company, own business and overall career.

Laying A Path For Others Workshop with Johanne Penney

Johanne Penney, a Positive DEI Disruptor, mentor and trainer, led our Laying A Path For Others workshop.
We all need someone to look up to and it’s important as we progress in our careers, we become that person!
We covered why Role Models are important and what type of Role Model we want to be.
Plus practical tips on how to stay true to ourselves whilst keeping the open doors for others to do the same.

Positive Mindset Workshop with Grace Cowan and Lydia Halliwell

Our next workshop after lunch was opened by Grace Cowan and Lydia Halliwell, personal trainers and coaches.
Our expert trainers delivered valuable tips, hints and coping mechanisms so our delegates could maximise their positive outlook to drive success at work and at home.
This was a jam-packed interactive workshops with Grace and Lydia getting everyone off their seats to do some fun activities.

Finding Your Tribe Workshop with Gemma Margerison

The last workshop in the day was from Gemma Margerison, Resilience and Recovery Coach.
It is important to create a trusted group where we belong – this can sometimes be difficult in the workplace.
Our delegates were led to reflect and work on identifying their strengths, focusing on achievements and building the view that they do belong in their career space and they can do it with key supporters alongside them.

Keynote Q&A with Hailey Laverty

To end the day, we were joined by Hailey Laverty, Group Treasurer of the IHG Hotels group, for our keynote Q&A.
Hailey has spent the majority of her career in male-dominated environments.
We learned about her career journey, the setbacks she’s overcome and her proudest achievements.
Our delegates had a chance to chat with Hailey and ask her all of their questions
